Find out below recent updates from the Teaching School Alliance

The Norwich Teaching School Alliance became accredited in April 2013 and since then we have worked on developing links, providing CPD and Initial Teacher training across Norfolk. For a full list of our partners and to contact them directly please click here

Our aim is to support teachers from their NQT year and encourage and develop staff who will grow and become Middle and Senior Leaders in school for the benefit of all learner’s education in Norfolk.

We work in a bespoke manner with any school or organisation who approaches us for support.  Our INSET and CPD packages take into account the operational systems and ethos of the organisations we work with.  This means that the support can be targeted specifically to ensure maximum impact.

Continuous Teacher Training

We’ve thought carefully about what it will look like for a new trainee, an NQT and a recently qualified teacher (RQT). We see and make the clear link between their progression from Initial Teacher Training to NQT and how it builds into RQT with continuing professional development.  This is done again through a carefully tailored programme to develop the teacher’s and mentors support.  With the focus on clear and measurable impact in the classroom.

We want to ensure there is fluidity between these career stages and also ensure a more personalised approach to continuing professional development to promote pride in the profession and increase teacher retention.

When new people interested in becoming a teacher visit any school within our alliance and ask, “What does being a teaching school mean? What’s that like for a trainee?” we say that being a teaching school gives us a wealth of opportunities across so many different schools and that’s part of what makes us special. For trainees, they can use that and tap into all that potential and experience.

We can take our trainees on a pathway – letting them know that in the future they can develop their career to be whatever they want to be.
