ITT and Teach Direct

Our partnership schools offer trainees the opportunity to experience examples of outstanding practice and the opportunity to gain Qualified Teacher Status through a Nationally accredited Route.  The skills and experience gained through training with The Norwich Teaching School prepares our trainees well for their first teaching post in behaviour and discipline, secondary specialisms in MFL and Science, Special Educational Needs and Disability and the teaching of reading including phonics.

Newly Qualified Teachers and Recently Qualified Teachers Support

As an Appropriate Body Norwich Teaching School offers a comprehensive package of support for Newly Qualified Teachers and their mentors. This includes regular workshops tailor made for the on going development of new teachers. The RQT package is designed to be responsive to the needs of teachers in the first years of their career.

Are you a teacher looking for effective INSET?

We coordinate and offer a wide range of INSET courses tailored to the needs of the staff in all key stages including Primary, Secondary and Special education. Across our consortium of schools we have access to a number of Specialist Leaders in Education (SLEs) and Local Leaders of Education (LLEs).  These staff offer a bespoke service of School-2-School support across all sectors and all key phases.

Keeping you connected: online web community

We believe that the opportunity to collaborate in a safe and innovative environment is one of the catalysts to enhancing teaching and learning.  We have created a simple to use space which allows collaboration across our whole teaching school community via the Google Apps for education platform.

The outcomes for all the Boudica Schools Trust's (BST) mainstream primaries was released yesterday.  For the first time BST was included in the league tables.  Key stage 2 results for them were: 39th (out of 240 MATs nationally) for Maths progress and 6th place in Reading progress nationally.  All these primaries have helped to instigate this through their SLE work, school to school support and CPD from the Norwich Teaching School.
